Replay

The replay function plays back stored message recordings. This enables analyzing difficult to reproduce situations multiple times.

To replay stored recordings, load a recording via the context menu (-> Load). CanEasy can load multiple recordings and supports parallel playback of multiple recordings.

On start of replay, the transmission control for all messages in the recording is disabled. Thus messages which are not included in the recording, but exist in the current data base, are still sent by CanEasy’s transmission control. The messages from the loaded recordings are sent on start of replay if no message selection was made during replay.

If a stored recording is loaded for replay, the dialog window “replay settings” is opened. In the tree view, a new tree entry is created, enabling access to the replay. Via the context menu of the new entry, the replay can be removed and replay settings changed.

Hinweis Note:
In addition to CanEasy log files (.celog), CanEasy can load different external formats (like ASC). For more information, please see conversion of an ASCII log file.

Multiple files can be imported at once via the multiple selection. For external formats the channel mapping is ignored.

During replay of a recording, messages sent by a connected physical ECU must be excluded from replay. Usually, this can be achieved by selecting the filter option “Tx only”; however, if a recording has been imported, this information might be missing. In this case, the filter must be set to “Rx and TX” . Please note: “Don't send selection” must be configured for a channel. Messages of real ECUs must be excluded from playback to avoid errors on the bus.
