Transmission Control V1

The transmission control defines under which conditions a message is sent by the message generator. These settings only affect automatic generation of messages. Regardless of these settings, all messages can be sent directly using the Send button in the panels.

The following settings are available:

1.Send, if message data was set:
a.Send always
b.Only if data has changed
c.Only on changing signal value

2.Send message cyclically:
a.Send always (with T1)
b.Send cyclically only, when at least one signal is active (with T2)
c.Send cyclically with T2 if active, else with T1

Detailed explanation:

1) Send, if message data was set

If a minimum sending interval is set, the message is sent directly once and repeated n times. As a result, the set minimum interval is always maintained.

1a)

Message is sent as soon as new message data is set. As a result, the message is repeated with the set number of repetitions in the adjusted minimum distance.

1b)

Message is sent only if the message data has changed.

1c)

If there is a change in message data, CanEasy checks whether the message’s signals fulfill the conditions defined in the signal evaluation dialog, and is therefore active. The message is sent only if at least one signal is active.

2)

The initial transmission of cyclically sent messages is delayed by the time specified in the start delay field.

2a)

A message is send with the cycle time specified in the T1 field.

2b)

This again refers to the signal evaluation dialog: The message it sent cyclically only if at least one of the message’s signal is active. The cycle time specified in the T2 field is used.

2c)
If no signal is active, the message is sent with cycle time T1, else it is sent with cycle time T2.

Input fields in the transmission control window:

Cycle time T1, T2:
Time interval used for cyclical sending of messages.

Start delay:
Delay before the message is sent for the first time; applies only to cyclic messages.

Repetitions:
Specifies how often a message is sent.

Minimum interval:
Minimum interval between repeated messages; applies only if the message is sent on message data change.
