Using existing BSKD7 projects with CanEasy

This chapter describes, how CanEasy must be configured for the first usage with a BSKD7 project. Therefor three possibilities are described.

Configure BSKD7 or CanEasy with BSKD as separate diagnostics tool

Extend a CanEasy residual bus simulation or analysis configuration with an existing BSKD7 project

Residual bus simulation and diagnose with two CanEasy instances

Configure (CanEasy with BSKD)

Assumption is, that only a BSKD7 project should be used for a communication with a control unit (without a residual bus simulation through CanEasy).

Start CanEasy with a new workspace

Add a new bus and select the used hardware interface and. Configure its setting like baud rate and HW channel

Add the batch file, which will start your needed BSKD7 project via the tree entry BSK diagnostics 7. Set a meaningful name for the project if desired

Start the simulation (F5) to establish the connection to the bus

Start now the configured diagnostics project

Extend a CanEasy residual bus simulation or analysis configuration with an existing BSKD7 project (CanEasy with BSKD)

Assumption is, that an existing BSKD7 project should be added to a workspace with an already existing residual bus simulation or analysis configuration for the communication with a control unit.

Start CanEasy

Load the workspace with the existing residual bus simulation or analysis configuration

Add the batch file, which will start your needed BSKD7 project via the tree entry BSK diagnostics 7. Set a meaningful name for the project if desired

Start the simulation (F5) to establish the connection to the bus

Start now the configured diagnostics project

Residual bus simulation and diagnostics with two CanEasy instances

Assumption is, that e.g. a residual bus simulation with CanEasy should be operate on a bus and with a further CanEasy a diagnostics project should work.

Start CanEasy

Load the workspace with the existing residual bus simulation or analysis configuration

Start the simulation (F5)

Start a further CanEasy (confirm the question if CanEasy should be started a second time)

Add a new bus and select the used hardware interface.

Hinweis Note:
Not every hardware interface allows the multiple access via different applications to the same channel. So it is needed, that in the above mentioned case a further hardware interface must be used, if two CanEasy instances are used.
If for example a Vector-Interface is used, both CanEasy instances can have access to the same channel of the interface.
