The so called 'BSK diagnostics' CanEasy offers a diagnostics system for control unit development. BSK diagnostics 7 (short form 'BSKD7') is a command line tool. Via a terminal window, diagnostic commands are sent and the respective results are displayed. Combining diagnostic commands into macros using the built-in macro language makes BSKD very efficient. This enables executing diagnostic commands in sequence, displaying corresponding (formatted) results and linking actions to results. The macros are stored in files and can be loaded dynamically.

The BSK diagnostics was developed by BSK-Datentechnik and was primarily executable until Windows XP. BSKD was integrated in CanEasy as BSK Diagnosis 7 (BSKD7) to make BSKD executable for Windows 7. BSKD7 has kept its primary features but uses now the hardware layer of CanEasy to be connected to the relevant bus. So with BSKD7 all CAN interfaces supported by CanEasy can be used.

Note about the terminal window
The window which is used by the BSK diagnostics 7 is so called terminal window, which is created by windows itself. It is not longer a DOS box like it was used by BSKD. A known problem is the behavior of the cursor. If user is scrolling with pressed cursor keys, the cursor will become invisible for this time. This behavior depends not on BSKD7. To improve the cursor behavior, by decreasing the cursor blinking rate under 'control panel' and 'keyboard'.
