General

In the General section, the following options can be configured:

Register COM server on start

Normally the COM-Server should already be registered on installation of CanEasy. If the currently started CanEasy is to be registered as COM server by default, this option must be activated.

It is also possible to register CanEasy as COM server during runtime by clicking the button register now.

Workspace handling on application exit

Save workspace if window positions have changed
If this option is activated, CanEasy asks before closing whether the workspace should be saved if only positions of existing windows have been changed. If the option is deactivated, settings of the windows will be ignored and the user will not be prompted whether these changes should be saved on exiting the application.

Save workspace if message data has changed
If this option is activated, CanEasy asks before closing whether the workspace should be saved if only message data has changed (e.g. change of a signal value of 0x00 to 0x41). If the option is deactivated, changes of message data are ignored and the user will not be prompted whether these changes should be saved on exiting the application.

Do not save
If this option is activated, changes to workspaces are not saved automatically. No security question is asked when CanEasy is closed.

Set default value during DBC file generation

A DBC file specifies a default value for each signal. To use this default value when a bus is generated, this option must be activated. Otherwise, all signal values are set to “0”.

Delete data of not loaded modules

CanEasy also stores the data of modules which could not be loaded. The button Delete now deletes this data. When the workspace is saved for the next time, the deleted data will not be saved any more.
