Configuration of Real and Simulated Network Nodes

 

In order to operate a network with real control units, it has to set which control units are real and which are simulated.

To integrate a real network node (e.g. instrument cluster, see figure below), for example, the control mode for this ECU must be set to "real control unit". As a result, CanEasy will not transmit the messages of this ECU as defined in the data base (ECU is not simulated). All other ECUs are set to “simulated control unit” and either send all messages or only those messages intended to be received by the physical ECU.

 

 

Exemplary schematic test scenario

In a PC, a CANcardXL is operated via a PCMCIA adapter. It is connected using the corresponding bus transceiver to a real ECU (in this case, an instrument cluster).
